Our PTOs and Boosters connect our students and staff with opportunities that would not be possible otherwise. District Support Organizations are always looking for volunteers. Please consider joining the fun...all are welcome!
Findlay High School Academic Boosters Club (ABC) has been actively working this year to support academics and recognize students’ achievements.
Our Academic Sticker Program distributes stickers to students who earn a 3.0 GPA or higher. With this program, ABC partners with local area business to offer students recognition throughout the community for their academic success. The Academic Sticker entitles students to receive merchandise discounts at approximately fifty Findlay area businesses. The Academic Sticker is to be placed on the back of the students’ ID card and must be shown at the time of purchase.
A Scholar Musician tee shirt is awarded to students involved in the Findlay Trojan Marching Band and/or Findlay String Factor who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. ABC coordinates tee shirt design and purchases with the music teachers. Students are honored for their hard work in the classroom while performing in these extracurricular musical groups. (Program is co-funded by ABC and Music Boosters).
A Scholar Athlete tee shirt is awarded to student athletes to recognize their dedication to academics while participating in sports – during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. ABC coordinates tee shirt design and purchases with the Athletic Department. Students are recognized for their diligence in their academic studies while being involved in these sports, and are presented shirts by their coaches at Sports Banquets, etc. (Students will not receive more than one shirt per year). (Program is co-funded by ABC and Trojan Club).
Congratulatory Cards are distributed to students throughout the school year to recognize special academic achievements, such as performance in DECA events, FTA competitions, foreign language awards, state-level achievements, quiz bowl, We the People, robotics, and National Honor Society, etc.
College scholarships are awarded to two students annually by ABC. Students are invited to apply for the ABC scholarship and our scholarship committee selects students based upon a blind review of essays and academic performance. One scholarship applicant is selected from the active ABC membership pool; and, one scholarship recipient is selected from the all-applicant pool.
ABC provides snacks for juniors taking the school-coordinated ACT exam during the spring semester.
Annually, ABC provides funding for the 3.75 GPA Awards Night refreshments. At Senior Awards Night, ABC funds 4.0 GPA graduating senior medals and certificates to recognize achievements in the classroom.
ABC provides funding for the FEP Career MentorshipProgram volunteer recognition. This program offers students the ability to be matched with a business individual from the community to complete job shadowing, enabling the student to learn more about this field of work.
The STAR Program (Special Teachers Appreciation & Recognition), planned by the Club, solicits students to recognize teachers through written appreciation messages on Trojan Grams (postcards provided by ABC). ABC coordinates distribution of Trojan Grams during Teacher Appreciation week.
Our Teacher Mini-Grant Program offers teachers monetary assistance to enrich the education of FHS students for classroom materials not generally funded by the school system.
Social Media and Communication
ABC is active on Facebook and Instagram. We participate in FHS Community Day in the fall to kick off the school year and showcase the Academic Boosters Club for new high school students, returning students, parents, guardians, school administrators, and the community. The ABC social media coordinator shares our messages with the local community and our target audiences.
ABC funds an Athletic Program Ad and Yearbook Ad annually and recognizes financial donors to our organization during a specified time frame.
ABC periodically participates in other events to showcase the club such as Freshman Orientation night, the 3.75 Banquet, and Senior Awards Night.
MembershipWe solicit memberships in the Academic Boosters Club from families, community members, school administrators, and friends who are passionate about supporting academic success of students at Findlay High School. Financial membership contributions, donations, and club fundraisers allow our club to continue to recognize students in the above ways.
We seek to communicate directly with parents and guardians at the beginning of the school year
as well as periodically during the year, about ways to contribute and become a member of the
Academic Boosters Club. The ABC membership coordinator communicates our membership
opportunities.
We are recognized as a charitable non-profit organization and therefore donations are eligible to be matched through charitable giving programs. Donations to our club from charitable giving programs allow individuals to maximize their monetary contributions!

Thank You to Our ABC Volunteers and Supporters
Thanks to all our supporters for your time, commitment, and financial contributions! We could not do it without you!
We could not function without our Executive Committee members! Positions on our Executive Board are filled in an alternating fashion. Individuals rotate on/off various board positions in a continuous manner, so there is always a way to become involved in a significant way. Executive committee positions include: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
Our Committee Heads work to keep our student recognition and teacher support programs fresh! These program coordinators head-up the following areas: Academic Sticker Program Coordinator, Congratulatory Card Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Mini-Grant Coordinator, Scholar-Athlete Coordinator, Scholar Musician Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator, and STAR Coordinator.
Staff Advisors enable us to all stay connected! They include: the Findlay Enrichment Program (FEP) Director of Gifted Services, a member of the FHS Counseling Department, and a teacher on staff at FHS.
Occasionally our Ad-Hoc committees are led once again by generous volunteers!

Findlay Enrichment Programs, Inc. (FEP) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization established in 1988.
Members include mainly parents and others concerned with advocating for and supporting educational enrichment programs.
FEP works in partnership with the Findlay City Schools and area businesses to encourage, develop, and coordinate a variety of classes, events, and programs held within the schools and community.
The governing board is comprised of primary, intermediate, and middle school parents (K-8).
Parental involvement is welcomed at monthly board meetings at 7:00 pm (EST) on the second Monday of each month, September-May.
FEP supports the existing FCS programs and the need for further options for all identified students along with talented students not identified by state guidelines.
The PTO is looking forward to a fantastic school year!
There are many opportunities to get involved with the PTO. You can either attend meetings on the 2nd Monday of every month in Glenwood’s Community Room, or you can opt to have the minutes of the meeting emailed to you. If you would like them emailed, please send an email to Robyn Wight, and she will include your name to the list.
If you have not already done so, please consider signing up for the Kroger Rewards Program. Every time you shop at Kroger, money will be donated to our PTO. For specific instructions on how to do this, click on this link for directions to set up Kroger Rewards. This year the PTO wants to enhance Glenwood’s security with coverings/graphics that would cover our outside doors, portraying our school logo and colors. This will allow view to the outside, but prevent visibility from the outside. Please help us make this purchase by participating in the school-wide fundraisers!
Upcoming ways to volunteer include the following:
Athletic Concessions
Bringing food for the staff Christmas Party
Bringing food in for Teacher Appreciation Week
Assisting Mrs. Loarca (our librarian) during the Book Fairs
Providing a special service or gift for Glenwood Teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week
If any of these opportunities sound like something you’d like to participate in, please email Robyn Wight.
